VIETNAM WAR QUESTION?

Communism was seen as an anti-imperialist ideology. Many Vietnamese just wanted to get the western powers out, so they backed the Viet Cong as a means to an end. But there were also plenty of Vietnamese strongly opposed to communism, mostly located in the cities in South Vietnam and among the wealthier, educated classes. The communists consolidated their power in the countryside.
