My school is doing Grease next year?

Now i've never had a lead in my 3 years of musical but I have had a lead in all 3 years of advanced theatre. I really want Zuko more than anything. I think I can get it but if I don't i'll have no problem with the other characters. What are some tips to get Zuko or Doody. help please :D
